Terraformer Ship V2 by eRe4s3r Terraformer Ship V2 by eRe4s3r
- Please read this first -

I did NOT model this ship, my part is only texture/shader and light setup (apart from fixing mesh errors due to conversion etc.)

The model was made by Richard Jefferies (sorry, i know of no links ,p)
The Texture/Light Setup was made by me (eRe4s3r)
Additions to greebles were made by me, but nothing major - I would be surprised if anyone could guess which greebles are made by me ,p

and it was made for Visari Entertainment [link]

Please do not use this image for anything commercial or otherwise - The Copyright lies completely with Visari Entertainment

- Description -

The Ship is a massive super long range Terraformer with a Cryo-Hibernation Unit and all the Storage Capacity it needs to seed a Planet with life, and Colonize it proper afterwards. It is 65m high and 125m wide and over 750m long.

The ship compliments a hibernated crew of 50k passengers in cryo pods as well as a maintenance compliment of 1k that can be activated on-demand by the Ships AI - The Cargo holds contain building tools, equipment and plant/animal DNA to inhabit a planet with specially adapted lifeforms after terraforming has been completed as well as a science lab, maintenance bay and sensor/com unit. All major systems are controlled by the AI and are usually not powered up either. Exception is sensors and engines.

Comments are welcome ;p - This is done for an animation - So rendertime was important - it is 2 minutes in this light-setup (yay)

- This is the brighter light setup - Just different light, nothing else changed, rendertime here also now 15 seconds (fixed a lot of time robbing settings ,p)

great work on the texturing, I always find texturing anything of size to be pretty difficult.

hmm just like, 2 general colors that accent certain things on a logical level. like this is the part for the crew (green) and this is the part for the terraform units (blue)

i have a question. would this ship be cannibalized after said planet is terraformed and colonized, i mean "cannibalized" as in the ship itself being used to build colonist habitats and vehicles? i'm just being curious.
i have to gives props to the original creator of this ship. it's design is excellent and it looks very functional.
and also props to you for making it looks just plain awesome :D

Lo thanks (by the way ,p)

The ship is a modified transport vessel so its a simple "dropping it all off on a planet" procedure, once dropped the ship is empty and can be used for resource gathering ;)

ah i see. i'd like to see a Space scene with it over a planet.

Might be - thats out of my hands atm ;) Planets are tricky beasts and it would have to be very very close to look right... not sure how to do that

Quite nice. My only major complaint is that there doesn't seem to be enough functional greebling on it. Plot out another couple shipboard systems, maybe add something that sticks out the side (it seems a little too skinny to me), and it'll be great.

Mhh, but the disk is so.. nice disky!

Just to be safe you mean the extruding cylinder like thing at the bridge section right?

Well thats not by me ;p

ya a circular disk with a smaller dome shape circular in the center.. it just seems to be sinking in on it's left side.. I know it just the optics ..
btw what the is a Greeble?

definitely optics - its completely even to the surface it rests on

A greeble is the additional mesh details like armor plating or round extruding disks ;p Those are not part of the base-mesh but extra "greebles"

ya I figured that was the case! not much you can do about other then adjust lighting.. add? but Like I said it's nit-picking to the extreme...nobody is going to pick up on that! and if this thing is moving? certainly not!
ah! now I know! a new lesson in Greebleeze :XD:
