Ok.. because textures suck and i suck with textures i decided to

1) Remodel some parts
2) Remove any textures :P (except on the thrusters)
3) Add some actual weaponry

Now its actually 81k Polygons (310k at max detail and 12k at lowest :p)

I was inspired by Failurecrusades great lightning method and adapted it for my use :p

Bit about this model, yes.. theres allready 2 versions of it up (now its 4 , sorry :p) This one is final, no more work on it, technically this is probably the worst model i did ever, unclean edgy and a weird mix of smooth and not smooth parts

But i like it :)

What weapons does it possess, and how many fighters, and mechs can be in the hanger. What's the crew's numbers? Can I use this ship for my story?

I really like how you incorporated thrusters in your design. You obviously thought about how to move this sucker around (and how to brake properly for any traffic lights you might run into =D )

ah I get ya :) What do you think is not working? You have a really nice light set up going on - really feels like there's a massive sun just out of shot. What were you modeling/rendering in? I think maybe setting up some nice battered and worn textures would be a good exercise for you. The sort of strains from re-entry, or battle scars. Plus this image could do with a starscape :nod:

Yeah, i tried a great many Texture Shaders (since im kinda lazy usually procedual ones) but none of them preserve the detail quite well and a starscape i allready have (see the other 2 versions pre mk3 :p) but the light is not what it seems, yes in untextured it looks great, but asoon as you put in a shader and several layers of scars it just becomes darker and darker, and it kills of the small details, and making it brighter just makes it look MORE wrong ;/

Starscape even worsens it :( But i will not give up, one of these years i have to find a proper shader for my models, one that i can re-use and shape with several layers.. im learning that and i got quite a bit right but in the end, starships ain't my forte in shader applying ;(

i like the idea of the reverse thrusters and the smaller thrusters for yaw/pitch/roll. like the ships from nexus!

Yep, thats where my inspiration for this came from (Bit from the Stilleto and bit from the smaller corvette in Nexus)

And anyway, Nexus is still the best Tactical Fleet Simulator ever :)

Hey, now I see... It really is a bit like Stilletto from Nexus. Great game, and although not completely accurate, one of the most "hard" scifi fleet games I've played...

Hm, I wish I could have mounted that much weapons in the game, too...

Yeah, thats i wished too (damn was the game hard ~.~), this config i actually checked the broad side weapons archs (and 80% of all weapons could fire at all times to each side, aswell as 60% frontal and only 20% backwards) I made this game with less dancing in mind, considering 120k T ships probably arent as responsive as imagined in Nexus :P

Thats the kind of useless stuff i think about when modelling, issnt that weird ~.~ I must say i really was and still am in awe about how many details there are in Nexus though, even the smallest ships all have properly firing thrusters, that alone is a feature i havent seen in a single game since

Only Problem was that the "Mirrored" weapon config didnt make much sense, even if all weapons COULD have fired (4/4) the game would fire only 2 of them (since the weapons are grouped) Id have wished to make totally lopsided battleship configs with only one side particle cannons, and other side energy weapons, then throw in actual dynamic armor in the game and youd have some kickas fleet simulator :p

Eh, yeah so much about Nexus (got carried away, currently playing it :p)
