In all honesty? I think your rose tinted glasses are cracked.
The rotor/hull nexus seems more durable, de-camoed weapons look more natural, shortened barrel is now proportionaly much more fitting & the cockpit bars help a lot
Also camo is better fitting todays use - more desert like
Last but not least aside from the model itself the bg is now much better as well
Must admit that even these "small" changes've improved the bird very much
As for the electronics, you might find some hints on how much would be seen from this angle on one of these: [link] , [link]
For close-up of the electronics follow this one: [link]
For any further details or technical info you might consult this: [link]
Hope it helps & as ever - best of luck with improving

Without thinking of good or evil, show me your original face before your mother and father were born.
The real problem though, is that what appears to be a shadow problem, when i move the light source way out to simulate a sun i get quite some artefacting on the nose so i had to actually put 3 shadow casters in (which is why the front nose shadow is not matching with the rest, one of these days i really need to redo my light setups
But ill be honest, the rotor blades just seem wrong to me, not quite sure what it is though i havent found real close ups of the blades esp the part connecting to the heli (apparantly thats a sort of rudder?)
While i know how a helicopter FLIES (aka, in terms of physics
